Epitalon

Epitalon is a synthetic peptide with the amino acid sequence: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, which is based on the natural peptide present in the pineal gland - epithalamin.

Its action is a potential slowing down the aging of the human body.

How does epithalon work?

To understand the workings of the epithalon at the outset, it is necessary to look at the main theory of "aging of the body." i.e. telomere shortening.

Telomeres Are stretches of DNA located at the end of chromosomes. They protect and stabilize our DNA during cell division (including, for example, regeneration).

Telomere shortening, is a process that occurs in every human being and inevitably leads to the end of a cell's life cycle and increases the risk of cancer. The "older" the cells, the lower the efficiency of cell division, and thus the weaker the regeneration.

Telomerase it's quite complex An enzyme that stimulates telomere elongation, i.e., it works the opposite of aging processes.

Epitaloninduces Expression of the catalytic subunit, telomerase enzymatic activity and telomere elongation, which may result from reactivation of the telomerase gene in somatic cells and indicates the possibility of extending the life of the cell population and the entire organism. [1]

2020 study [2] confirms the effect of epithalon on:
- regulation of pineal gland function
- Extension of cell viability in animals and humans
(which translates into longer life)
- Reduce the chances of cancerous changes in cells

Additionally epitalon :
-stimulates the pineal gland to produce melatonin at night, which can translate into better sleep
- works neuroprotective
- works anti-inflammatory
- may help with retinal degeneration

Is epitalone safe?

Epitalon is not yet approved by the FDA, but has gone through a period of testing on animals, isolated human cells, and is now at the stage of conducting tests of its effectiveness on humans. To date no side effects of its use have been noticed or identified.
